The Joint External Evaluation (JEE) is a comprehensive, multi-sectoral process led by the World Health Organization to assess a country’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to public health threats under the framework of the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005).

In 2022, Thailand hosted a five-day JEE mission, bringing together government agencies, international experts, and public health institutions to review its readiness across key technical areas — including surveillance, laboratory systems, risk communication, border health, and emergency preparedness.
