Laboratories at the Frontline: Strengthening Thailand’s Public Health Response to COVID-19
WHO Thailand | Thailand, Bangkok - 2020
Work: Photography coverage
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, I documented Thailand’s efforts to strengthen its laboratory systems and biosafety capacity through a series of field visits commissioned by WHO Thailand. These visits included the MU Bio Innovation Building at Mahidol University, the National Influenza Centre, and the Department of Medical Sciences at the Ministry of Public Health, key institutions supporting testing, surveillance, and diagnostic preparedness. This photo series illustrates how investments in research and lab infrastructure, supported by WHO and the Government of Japan, played a critical role in Thailand’s national COVID-19 response and in building resilience for future health emergencies.
